Gone Girl

Gone Girl is an interesting thriller. With all the blame being placed onto Nick (Ben Affleck) for the disappearance of his wife Amy, we are led to believe that he actually did kill her and dispose of her body…..
From this standard thriller angle the story changes and twists, imparting more thrill and intrigue into proceedings. It turns this film into some thing more than it seems.
Affleck does well as the accused husband but is dwarfed by Rosamund Pike (who got nominated for an Oscar in this role) who puts in superb work as the missing Amy.
Directed by David Fincher, one of my favourite directors, it manages to prolong and extend the suspense, even beyond the seeming end of the film.
