The Host is a Korean comedy/horror/monster film about a mutated beast that lives in the Han River and starts attacking locals. Slow and bumbling Park Gang-du sees his daughter Hyun-seo taken by this newfound terror and, to make matters worse, is rounded up with the rest of his family and quarantined.
What follows, as if that wasn’t crazy sounding enough, is a rollercoaster of absurdity as Gang-du and his family fall from one perilous situation to another and all the while they are trying to rescue Hyn-seo from the creature.
Overall a decent monster film, some great special effects. The Host mostly is ridiculous but also fun, stupid and keeps moving along at a good pace.
